I can't believe it , I know stranger things have happened but really, you just never know. I mean it - Never say Never cause I'll be darned if it's not a miracle ... an everyday ordinary ... MIRACLE!
No, I didn't find the job of my dreams, lose 20 lbs or find Jesus on the side of an old 1970's crock pot. Recall that I did say, 'everyday ordinary miracle, but a miracle nonetheless. So, what's the miracle you ask - well I still can't believe it but ... someone actually .... took my advice ... AND ... it worked!
You don't believe me ... well, let me explain ...
First, I follow a lot of blogs, some that I read daily, some weekly and some just every once in a while. One of the blogs that I read almost every day is called, 'Out of the Crayon Box'. It is published by a teacher in L.A and her 'crayons' are what she calls her student (so cute) anyways, this is how she describes her blog ...
'This is my very own show and tell for all the things I do out of the
Crayon Box. When I am not with the Crayons or grading their papers, I
am most likely making some sort of mess in the name of creativity.
So anyway, a while back she posted that she had an ugly old crock-pot [pictured above] (I think we all have an ugly old crock pot sitting on a shelf somewhere don't we) and was thinking about whether she should try and spray paint it red and was asking her readers what we thought about that. Well, I thought about it for a while and I posted the following comment on her blog ...
Anonymous from Seattle, WA said... (Yup, that's me)
"I wonder if you could try paining it with black chalk board paint -
You could then write on the pot what is cooking inside it! "

Well, she took my suggestion and painted her old crock pot with black chalkboard paint and it turned out great and I {heart} it.
It's a rare day in June, a once in a blue moon kinda event when someone actually takes my advice and it works - so needless to say ... I'm thrilled.
So, I'm thinking - that since I'm having all the girls from my bookclub over for a movie & book discussion next week - that I might just paint my ugly old 1970's style crock pot up with chalkboard paint and make some tasty Swedish meatballs in it for them, I'll see if I can impress them with my Top Chef Skills (ha), my creative talents and clever idea (well, it was 1/2 mine) ...
Happy Crock-Potting
