Timeline of the Universe

Where Were You When ....

1.    Russian Launch Sputnik (1957).
- I am living in utero.  It's dark and I can't see much - not sure what's out there!

2.    Woodstock Festival happens (1969).

- This is my 11th years and I am now living on the farm.  I was in grade 4 at Surrey Center  Elementary School.  Some of my peeps were Charlene H., and Chris B. I am a Girl Guide and I love doing Arts & Crafts.  

3.    Nixon resigns over Watergate (1974).
- This is my 16th year and at Lord Tweedsmuir HS.  I have wheels (Stetar Farms white pick-up truck) and free gas (from the farm tank).  I live in my blue jean overalls, smoke Player's cigarettes (PEE-U) and skip school regularly.  My friends  are Deb C., Sharon J., and Nancy W. and we are listening to Bennie & the Jets by Elton John, The Steve Miller Band and my personal faves ... Jim Croce, Carole King and Harry Chapin.

4.    Space Shuttle 'Challenger' explodes (1986).

  - This is my 28th year and this is the year my life begins to change ...
 I start this year off by marrying Mike.  Jessica & I leave in April to relocate  to Silver Spring, Md.  3 Days after Mike & I married he had to leave to fly back to  the US and me and Jess had to remain in Canada.  After 4 long months of  paperwork and bureaucracy Jessica & I were finally okay to enter the USA.  I remember sitting at the airport in Seattle with my Mom and Sandra and crying our   eyes out.  I was so scared ... newly married, being reunited with Mike after 4  months apart (and never really ever spending much time together), moving to a  new country ... How do you spell SCARED & HOMESICK ... I was spelling it with a  M, as in m.a.r.y.l.a.n.d.
